Select Chicago Musicians Guidelines

The Select Chicago Musicians(SCM) Events will include:

• No membership fee EVER!

• Entertaining guest speakers on relevant and informative topics.

• Plenty of time to network and mingle with old and new friends.

• Live entertainment, refreshments, door prizes, and raffles

• Prize for "Who had the worst gig?"

• A variety of segments to keep things moving, relaxed, and fun.

• Surprises, musical and otherwise.

• Looking forward while also celebrating the great musicians no longer with us.

• Date and location of the first SCM Live Event will be announced soon.

Membership and Core Principles:

• Your personal presence at meetings is key!

• The Select Chicago Musicians (SCM) Concept: A new community centered around SelectChicagoMusicians.org and live, in-person meetings.

• No Costs or Solicitation: There will never be any membership fees.

• No Social Media: SCM doesn't have any social media presence.

• Let's Stay in Touch: You can connect with us here or click "Join" and leave your preferred contact information.

• Non-Profit Status: SCM is an independent organization currently in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit.

• Community Service: Many communities and organizations experience profound emotional, psychological, and social benefits from live, tailored musical performances that we will provide.

Select Chicago Musicians (SCM) was created to support, connect, and champion the freelance musicians who form the core of Chicago’s music scene. As industry trends and musical landscapes shift, SCM provides a dedicated space for artists to gather face-to-face, exchange ideas, and build strategic partnerships. By fostering a collaborative environment, we help independent musicians expand their footprint, advance their creative and business goals, and give back to the communities that inspire them.
